Happy Anniversary Matthew!!
First off, this is somewhat going to be a mushy “I love you” post because it’s my anniversary with Matt. So if you don’t want to see that, then you can scroll down and read some of my other posts!
Two years ago today, the question “Would you do the honor of letting me be your boyfriend?” filled the air between Matt and I. I had never heard it worded that way and to me it was more respectful and much cuter. Clearly, I said yes! Since then, we’ve had our ups and downs but always had fun. Our Tuesdays were {before his airport job} filled with pasta, NCIS, and Chicago Fire. In high school, he sent lunch to me when I didn’t feel like eating anything from the cafeteria. In college, he’s pushed me and helped me succeed in my classes. He’s always worked hard to achieve the lifestyle we both enjoy. He’s gotten his pilot’s license {but STIL hasn’t flown me anywhere, boo} and now works as a ramp agent at the airport and enjoys it. He’s helped me see the good in myself, helped me learn to take care of myself, and has always made sure that I felt loved. He may be smarter than me, be bigger than me, be better than me at certain things but {I’m funnier} he’s always used that to help me better myself.
Since Matt has gotten his airport job, he’s been gone from the afternoon until late at night. When we lived in Simi, we saw each other everyday and at the beginning of the school year, I moved into his apartment and out of the dorms {plus we live close enough to the school so I always saw him anyway}. So with him being gone most of the day I had to learn to appreciate the time that we did get to spend together, the cuddles at night and time in between my classes and him leaving for work.
Recently, we’ve adopted Jingles, our furbaby. She’s the cutest cat. When you’re in a relationship, it’s sometimes hard to see the way your significant other looks at you. Well, with Jingles now I can. I can see that he loves Jingles very much and deeply cares about her. She may just be a cat but to us she’s part of our family. I equate petting Jingles to cuddles, a sign of affection. There are never enough cuddles in a day; listening to your heartbeat.
I know recently we’ve had our fights and our mistakes but love is stronger than that; is stronger than words that can be said. Being able to work on our issues instead of just giving up shows the strength and love we have for each other.
I love you so much Matthew. I can’t wait to find out what we’re doing today! Thank you for always giving me the chance to prove myself and show how much I love you. Thank you for all you do for me, I could never say thank you enough.
I hope you know how proud I am of you and that I’ll always support you no matter what happens. You are amazing and all I ever want to do is support you and help you reach your dreams!
Happy two year anniversary Matthew. I can’t wait for many more!
-XOXO
