My Holiday Bucket List
Hey there! I know I skipped a couple of days of Blogmas, but I got swamped at work with super early shifts and finishing up getting ready for Christmas. But, I’m getting back on track to finish up Blogmas! Today, I want to share my holiday bucket list for next year! It’s never too early to start thinking about what to do next year!
With Christmas right around the corner, I’m thinking about what I want to do to celebrate the holidays next year. I’m putting together a bucket list of things I want to do during the holiday season, preferably next year, but definitely in the next couple of years.
See a light display
Here in Phoenix, there are plenty of light displays/attractions to go see and we just haven’t gone! I listed many of them in my Holiday Events to See in Phoenix post. One I really want to see is the Phoenix Zoo Lights. I haven’t been to a zoo in so long and I want to see how they deck the zoo out in lights!
Visit the snow
Growing up in southern California and then moving to Phoenix means that there is no snow, at all in the winter. Now, I’m not a big fan of the cold, but I do want to visit the snow at least once and get that true “winter” and “white Christmas” feeling that a lot of other people get to experience.
Get an ugly (and a cute) Christmas sweater
Yup, it’s true, I have no ugly Christmas sweater. I don’t even have cute Christmas sweaters! During the holidays we get to wear Christmas themed shirts at work and everyone has these cute ones and it made me realize that I really want to get some next year.
Bake more holiday treats
I made some sugar cookies earlier this month but I want to bake more holiday treats. Right now it’s hard because our kitchen is so tiny, so baking is really hard due to minimal counter space. I’m hoping that soon we will move into a bigger place and will be able to bake (and cook) more!
Sit by the Fire
Back home, my parents used to light the fireplace during the winter and I loved sitting by it and feeling the warmth. We haven’t really done it in our apartment because one of the cat’s litter boxes and they have kicked litter into the box. Because of that, it makes the fireplace pretty much unusable, which is a bummer.
Pay it Forward
Now, this is something I already try to do, but I want to be better with it. Especially in terms of buying someone’s coffee or meal. It’s easy to get caught up in your plans and your happiness that you can forget to pass that happiness on. It really can be fulfilling to pass on your happiness and joy to someone who may be struggling.
Send out Christmas cards
I haven’t sent out Christmas cards as an adult, yet, and I also haven’t received any as an adult. I used to love seeing the Christmas cards that my family would get and the ones that we would make and send out. I’m hoping that I can plan better next year and send some out!
Like I’ve said before, I love the holidays, but sometimes work takes my focus away from enjoying my favorite time of the year. I’m hoping that this bucket list will help me enjoy it a little more!
