March Blog Traffic Report (2019)

Hey there! It’s April already and that means that it’s time for my March blog traffic report! This month was pretty good traffic-wise as well as Pinterest-wise and I can’t wait to tell you about it!

Every month I share my traffic stats to show what my numbers are, how I use social media to drive traffic to my blog and to share that it’s okay to have lower numbers. Many traffic reports show these big numbers and make newer bloggers feel disappointed about their numbers. Remember, it’s not always about the numbers. You can have lower numbers but a tight-knit community. Stop comparing, and do you!

So, let’s get into this month’s numbers! This month was pretty good, especially since I had a pin go viral! It was only for a couple of days, but still, it was exciting to see one of my pins go viral. I’ll get into that later!

Google Analytics

This month I had 2,033 users and 2,190 sessions that resulted in 2,786 pageviews. Most of these pageviews came from Pinterest, specifically one pin. I had a new pin for an older post go viral. I had uploaded a new pin design and it just took off! It lasted for a couple of days and then slowed down, but I’m still happy that a new design took off so quickly! You can see the pin here. Let me know what you think of it!

Twitter

For Twitter, I ended March with 44,600 impressions and 1,222 followers. That’s a follower increase of 20 followers. Towards the middle of March, I tried to switch things up with my automation. I paused my Google Calendar/IFTTT routine and tried a plugin I had heard about, Revive Old Posts. It does just that, shares older posts to your social accounts. I let it run for a couple of weeks and then checked my Twiter analytics. It wasn’t really giving me better engagement than my old way of doing things, so I stopped using it and went back to my Google Calendar/IFTTT routine.

Now, there’s nothing against the plugin, but since I had the free version, I couldn’t add a custom tweet before the link, it just tweeted the post title and the link, that’s it. Whereas with my Google Calendar/IFTTT routine lets me do that. That was really the deciding factor in making my decision.

Pinterest

I ended the month with 162,789 impressions and 135,204 viewers total for the whole month. I also ended the month with 2,255 followers, which was an increase of 110 followers from last month! That is some good numbers! This bump definitely has to do with the viral pin that I mentioned earlier.

I also ended the month with an average of 165,867 monthly viewers and 6,837 average monthly engaged users. This is another slight decrease from the month before. For the first half of the month, the numbers continued to decrease, since it’s a 30-day aggregate, and then halfway through they started to pick up again. The 30-day aggregate for this stat is really why it is important to stay consistent with Pinterest, because it’s not as easy to make increase like your impressions are.

This month I got 241,984 impressions and 207,712 viewers for just my website’s pins. That means that my pins get 7,806 average daily impressions and 6,701 average daily viewers. That is a huge increase compared to last month, and that also has to do with the viral pin. That’s because the pin that went viral was one of my website’s pins, not another blogger’s pin that I happened to pin as well.
