Miss Universe 2014

Miss Universe is one of the most well-known international pageants. This year, Paulina Vega of Columbia won! She is Miss Universe 2014!

I love watching pageants {it always makes me want to compete in one, I really do want to compete}. I usually watch Miss USA, Miss Teen USA, and Miss Universe {because they are always televised}. I tried keeping up with Miss World this year but it was in London so it was hard to keep up with it. Last year Matt and I watched Miss Universe together {he’s definitely a keeper} and watched Olivia Culpo {Miss USA 2012} pass on her crown to Gabriella Isler {who seems like a sweetheart}.

This year, Nia Sanchez represented the United States {I remember watching her win. When she was top 5, I was pulling for her!} She placed first runner up! She was so close! She killed it this year but alas the judges chose Miss Columbia!

One thing that shocked me was that Miss Jamaica placed fourth runner up {last}. Now I had her top two or three but the judges didn’t. But that isn’t all; apparently after the pageant half of the contestants gathered around Miss Jamaica to cheer her up. Now, I understand her being upset about placement but I don’t think it is right for the girls to shut out the new Miss Universe like that. I’m sure we’ll hear more about this in the coming days.
