My Biggest Advice for New Bloggers
My Biggest Advice for New Bloggers
Hey there! If you’re a new blogger, I want to share something really important with you, my biggest piece of advice. As a new blogger, you’re probably looking at so much information, doing as much research as possible so you can make sure your blog is perfect from the start. Sometimes it can get overwhelming looking at so many blog posts on how to blog. I get it.
This post isn’t meant to discourage you from blogging or make you feel bad about the choices you’ve made. I’m sharing this post because I want you to succeed and enjoy what you’re doing. Blogging is fun, fulfilling, and truly inspiring. You can build an amazing community and really help people. That is one of the main reasons I got into blogging.

I know it can feel like there is too much information out there. That there are so many bloggers, that your blog just won’t succeed and that you’ll fail. That’s not true. Like at all. There is room for you and your blog and there will always be room for you and your blog. Which leads me to my biggest piece of advice for new bloggers!
Be authentically and unapologetically you!
The reason that the blogging space has room for you in it, is because everyone has something valuable to offer others. Everyone has something about them and/or their story that makes them unique. That uniqueness is going to be what draws readers to your blog and eventually make them want to be part of your community. Some of the best ways to do this are to follow your heart, bring your special piece to the table, and to not play the comparison game.
Follow your heart
Talk about what you want to talk about. Go into blogging sharing about what you want to share. If you have a passion, then go for it. Following your heart and passion makes it easy to blog because you already know what you want to talk about. You’ve probably researched it or lived it for a while. It also makes it easier because you’re enjoying the topic that you’re talking about, and it’s always easy to talk about what you love! If you’re not talking about what you’re passionate about, then you’re doing this all wrong. There’s no harm in trying to make money blogging, but if you’re blogging in a certain niche just to make money, your readers will know that it’s forced and not authentic.
Bring your special piece to the table
What makes you unique? What makes you different from the next blogger? There’s always something that sets you apart. Make sure you bring that front and center. You want your readers to know what sets you apart and why they should come to your blog. Whether you have a special talent, you have an inspiring backstory, or you have a wealth of knowledge in a specific niche, make sure you bring that to the table. Your readers want to know that, they want to know who you are! This is one piece of advice for bloggers that many people miss because people don’t think they have something special. But they do, and so do you. Everyone is unique!
Don’t play the comparison game
This is the biggest thing that new bloggers get hung up with. As a new blogger, it’s easy to compare yourself to someone who’s been in the game for years, perfecting their blog. Don’t. Just don’t. It causes self-doubt and makes new bloggers give up when they have so much to offer. You can’t compare your chapter 1 to someone else’s chapter 15. You’re not in the same spot, and that’s okay! Every blogger was new once! I was new once, and even those big-name bloggers that everyone knows, yup they were new once too. There’s no harm in going to bigger bloggers for inspiration but don’t compare your site to theirs or their income to yours. You’re just going to cause yourself heartache because they’re not new anymore. But, the awesome thing is, you have the potential to get to where they are.
I hope this advice helps you continue on your journey. I know it’s easy to get discouraged but I hope that you realize that you do have something to offer and that there is a place for you in the blogging community. So keep at it!
