My Thoughts on Blogmas
Hey there! With the end of Blogmas right around the corner, I want to share my thoughts on participating in my first Blogmas. In my four years of blogging, I hadn’t participated in Blogmas before, so I gave it a go this year. Here are my thoughts on Blogmas!
So Blogmas is blogging every day from December 1 to December 24. Now, I did skip four days, because I got a bit burnt out with my work schedule getting adjusted. I did have the intention of putting up a blog post every day, but it was definitely harder than I thought.
How do I feel about Blogmas?
I think Blogmas is pretty cool if you already have a lot of good ideas in your idea vault. I’m a proponent of quality over quantity, so I think Blogmas can be awesome if you already have good content for the winter. I also think that it can end up hurting you if you don’t have good ideas, or just focus on trying to get content out in the 24 days. Focusing on good content should be more important than posting every day. Other bloggers have also been doing their own take on Blogmas. Some are posting every other day or posting from the 12 to the 24. I’ve seen some post from the 1 to the 12. I think if you can make it work for you, and you’re giving good quality content, then do it!
How do I think I did?
I think I did alright. I’m bummed that I ended up skipping a couple of days, but I’m glad I did because I didn’t have any ideas for posts. Out of the posts that I did post, I’m happy with the content that I posted. It was definitely harder than I thought it was going to be. Posting holiday content for 24 days straight is hard. There were a couple of days, in the beginning, I didn’t post holiday content, but that’s because I had some monthly posts I needed to post. Overall, I did pretty well with Blogmas.
Would I do Blogmas again?
I would do Blogmas again, but I would do it differently. Next year, I will plan better, writing posts ideas in advance so I can be better prepared for daily posts. I’m also thinking about maybe doing posts every other day, or just Monday – Friday only instead of every single day. I think that’s going to depend on how many post ideas I come up with in preparation. I really do want to participate in Blogmas again, but I know I need to plan better for next year.
