Reflecting On Two Years of College

Two weeks ago, I turned in my final assignments and finished my sophomore year of college! I am halfway done with college and I actually cannot believe it. So far, my GPA is 3.76 and I’m very proud of that; but this post isn’t all about my grades. I wanted to reflect on the past two years and how it’s been.

I still struggle to believe that I’ve already gone through two years of college; more or less because I feel like the time has flown by so fast. I went to ASU straight out of high school, in the fall of 2013 and sometimes I question if that was the right choice for me. I graduated high school at 17 {my birthday is in October so I was a youngin} so I sometimes question if I should have waited a year or something like that. I’m overly critical of myself so that doesn’t always help.

I dormed my first year, and it wasn’t the best experience. I never clicked with my roommate, I felt lonely; it wasn’t fun for me. The dining hall food was pretty good, especially the french fries. Like yasssssss! But I don’t not recommend dorming {also many colleges require freshman to dorm}, I always say give it a shot!

Course load and schedule planning wise, I think I did pretty well. One thing I regret doing is not seeing an advisor for my sophomore year classes. I felt like I was behind {even though I wasn’t} and I wasn’t helping myself. I did go see an advisor for next semester because it is upper division and becoming major-focused so I really need that guidance.

Overall, I don’t think I would do anything differently {except the advisor thing} because all of it has gotten me to where I am today; I’m a firm believer of that. I’d have to say that my first two years of college have been pretty good and I’ve done pretty well! {I mean, I’ve made Dean’s List all four semesters sooo}. In all seriousness, college is a journey and an adventure; I guess like life itself.

This post didn’t really turn out the way I was planning but I hope I got my point across. I’m not the best at reflections but I think this went pretty well. I’m super excited for the last two years of college but I’m also scared. We’ll see how it goes!

-XOXO
