What I’ve Learned Over the Past Two Years

On July 31, my blog officially turned two years old! In the past two years, I have learned a lot, and to be honest, I’m still learning A LOT. This blog has also gone in a very different direction than where I had wanted it to go two years earlier. To be honest, I didn’t really know what I wanted two years ago, this was really just a place for me to write.

So, back on July 31, 2014, this blog started out as arizonaprepster.blogspot.com, and it was just a place for me to write about whatever I felt like writing about. I didn’t really know what the blogging world could offer me, or what I could offer other people. I had no idea that there were blogging groups, what an e-course was, or that I should send emails to people I didn’t know. There was so much that I didn’t know, and some that probably didn’t even exist yet two years ago.

I have learned so much about blogging, but that is because I realized that I really could make an impact with my blog. I didn’t really begin to see that until the beginning of 2016, that’s when I started to find some of these blogging groups and began to really take this seriously. In April, I launched my free e-book, How to Blossom in College (also my first e-book). Now, I’m working on a free email course, YUP! I will talk about that in more detail later. I’m definitely not where I thought I would be with this two years ago, I’m sure I thought I was going to be some awesome fashion blogger. Even though I’m not where I imagined, I’m happy with where I am at. I’ve made some awesome friends, and I’m a part of some really helpful groups. It’s incredible to see others jumping to help each other achieve their blogging goals.

It’s been pretty eye-opening. I’m hoping to create a full course soon, maybe by the end of 2016, early 2017. To be honest, I love helping people learn something new. I realized this with my current job, and so many people tell me that I should be a teacher. Even though I agree that I love teaching people, I really don’t want to be a traditional school teacher. It is just not something I want to do or something that I have the patience for.

So, I’m hoping to be able to do that through Creatively Lauren; I’m hoping to be able to teach through courses. The past two years have taught me to do what you want to do, chase your dreams, and don’t let your brain sabotage you. They also have taught me a lot of technical lessons, about images and design that I didn’t really think about in the beginning. I’m hoping to be able to grow my skills even further.

I’m also hoping to use this semester’s capstone project to further Creatively Lauren. As soon as I get more information about what the project entails, I hope to start coming up with ideas about that. I’m pretty excited for what is to come!

I can’t wait to see what the next year brings, and I hope you will stick with me!
