Why Creativity is Important in Today’s Society
I hope you have had a wonderful week! This is the first week in a really long time that I’m posting three days a week! It feels so awesome to be on somewhat of a “track” again. This week was pretty good; I really am trying to find a way to get my creative juices flowing. Since I have been having some trouble with my creativity, I figured that I could write a post on why creativity is important in today’s society!
Today, I wanted to talk about why creativity is so important in this society. Creativity is something that can help you stand out from the crowd, and it definitely should. Whether it is in school, in your career, or on your blog, creativity is very important. {Disclaimer: It is also important to know when to use your creativity and when not to, especially in the “career” aspect.}
In a world where everyone is trying to fit in, it is important to let your creativity shine.
This is something that really resonates with me. Everyone is trying to fit in, try the most popular things, and try everything that is “trendy”. Basically, young people today seem to be trying to fit a “cookie cutter” mold of what is cool and what they do. Everyone is so bent on trying to be the “it” person, that they forget that their creativity and individuality is one of the most important things about them!

I understand that there are so many cool things out there, and that is okay. But, it is also important to realize that what is really going to make you stand out is NOT you doing the same thing, buying the same thing, and wearing the same thing as everyone else. What is going to make you stand out is your creativity and individuality.
This is something that is very prevalent in the blogging world. The blogging world has exploded with people trying to “make it big”. However, the way that many are going about it is coming out with the same “feminine, simple” theme with gold and whatnot. They all have the same “theme” per se. However, the only way you’re going to stand out in the blogging world is with creativity. I have found a few bloggers, whom I adore, that have unleashed their creativity and have created something different on the internet. So, here are three bloggers that I admire for their creativity!
Melyssa Griffin | melyssagriffin.com
Melyssa uses yellow and blue as the main colors of her blog. Her main header image is one of her, with a yellow background. Scroll down a little bit and you find a space that prompts for you to “take action”. Then if you scroll down a little more, you’ll reach her blog posts. She had a developer design her site to fit her vision, and I LOVE it!
Allison Ruiz | wonderlass.com/home (Home) wonderlass.com/blog (Blog)
Allison’s site is bright and fun, which reflects her bright and fun personality. {She is definitely someone I would like to meet in real life!} Full of pinks, teals, and bright yellows, Allison’s creativity and personality shines through her site! Her blog is definitely not something you see all of the time on the internet, and that’s definitely an advantage!
Regina Anaejionu | byregina.com
Now, Regina’s site is not like anything I have ever seen. It is so in-depth yet easy to navigate. It is also dark, not like morbid, or pitch black, but there are areas of dark gray which she uses to break up spaces on the page. She also uses a black overlay on her graphics, which is not something you see often.
These three women are very successful in the blogging world! No doubt their creativity and individuality allowed them to get to where they are today! This goes to show that creativity is important.
If you notice anything about viral videos or so, especially the Chewbacca mom, it is that there is something creative, as well as funny, about them. There is usually some creativity involved in the making of those very funny viral videos. Today, so many people want to become big, they want to be seen as an expert in something, and they want people to know that. It’s going to take creativity to get you there.
So please, unleash your creativity, make your individuality known, and keep being different! Being different and creative is what gets long-term and loyal fans, and long-term success. It may not seem like it, but your happiness and mental health will thank you in the long run. Do your thing and do it for you!
How do you unleash your creativity?!
I love this message! I feel like there is so much pressure to fit into a certain niche or to follow "must-do" advice. If I'm just going to be another clone, I could go work in a cubicle punching buttons and making widgets. 😉 -Jenna
